Terms of use

Last updated: October 2026

By using this site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Using the site

The games, guides and tools on this site are free to use for personal, non-commercial play. There are no accounts. Please do not try to disrupt the site, overload it with automated requests, or interfere with how it works for other visitors.

The game and its licence

2048 was created by Gabriele Cirulli. The game engine used here is derived from his open-source version and is released under the MIT licence, which is kept with the source code. The variations, the solver, the written guides and the simulation data on this site are original work and may not be copied or republished without permission.

Your progress

Your current game and best score are saved in your own browser. They can be lost if you clear your browser data or use a private window, and the site cannot recover them.

Third-party content

Some pages embed videos from YouTube and show ads served by Google AdSense. That content comes from those providers and is covered by their own terms and policies. Links to other sites are provided for convenience; this site is not responsible for their content.

Messages you send

If you send a message through the contact page, please do not include anything unlawful or anything you would not want read. Suggestions you send may be used to improve the site.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. The strategy findings and solver statistics come from simulations and are offered for interest and learning, not as a guarantee of any result. To the extent the law allows, the site owner is not liable for any loss arising from using the site.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site means accepting the current version. How visitor data is handled is covered separately in the privacy policy.
