The Daily Challenge Is Here: Can You Beat Today’s Board?

New game mode, new reason to come back tomorrow. The Daily Challenge is live: one board, one goal, and a streak counter that remembers whether you showed up.

Today's board is waiting. Can you beat it?

One board. One goal. No warm-up.

A normal game of 2048 spends hundreds of moves getting to the interesting part. The Daily Challenge starts there. You open the page and the board is already deep into a game, big tiles and all, with one mission: make the 2048 tile before you run out of room.

Every board comes from a real game rather than a random scatter of numbers, and every one has been beaten by our solver on the exact tiles you will face. So when a board has you cornered, there is a way out. You just have to find it.

Fail, learn, go again

The new tiles are fixed for the day, so the same moves always lead to the same board. That changes how the game feels. A loss is not bad luck anymore, it is information: you know where the next tile lands, so you can go back and take a different line. Restarts are free and unlimited.

Hint and Auto Play are switched off for this one. It is just you and the board.

How long can you keep it going?

Open a game each day and your streak goes up by one. Come back tomorrow and it climbs again. Miss a day and it drops back to 1, though your longest streak stays on the counter as the record to beat.

There is no finish line. The counter keeps going for as long as you do, with no cap. A week is a good start, a month is an achievement, and 100 days is a serious commitment. How far can you take it?

Then beat the machine

Solving the board is only round one. Your score is the number of moves you needed, and your best run of the day is the one that counts. Once you solve it, we show you how many moves our solver took on the same board with the same tiles. It plays to survive rather than to finish fast, so that number is there to be beaten.

The details

  • New challenge: every day at midnight, on your own device's clock.
  • Cost: free, with no account and no download.
  • Your streak: saved in your browser, so your phone and laptop each keep their own, and clearing your site data resets it.
  • Languages: the challenge plays the same whatever language your device uses, and the page itself is available in all ten of our languages.

Your move

The board is set and your streak starts today. Play today's Daily Challenge, then come back tomorrow and do it again.
